Although there are numerous advantages to working as a freelancer, it is not for everyone. You will need a set of skills and competencies to be ready to the market. Fortunately,  any lack can be solved with dedication and preparation.

You'll need to be incredibly adaptive, likeable, and a superb communicator, in addition to having a high level of self-motivation. Specific abilities and understanding in the field in which you're giving services are also important, as in this field you'll face stiff competition.

Employers wanting to recruit freelancers will almost always want to see examples of their work, so having a large portfolio that showcases your knowledge and talents is a must. Qualifications may be preferred, however this is entirely dependent on your field of work and the needs of the company.
