The median freelance income is $20-28 per hour, according to the 2019  Upwork survey. Of course, with so many different freelance tasks to choose from, that figure can fluctuate significantly.  For instance, transcription services can pay as little as $5-10 per hour, whereas software engineering jobs can pay up to $75 or even hundreds of dollars per hour.
